GVSA Volunteer Wrap up for the 2020 Season

Many things were different during 2020, including softball. We feel fortunate to be able to complete a shortened season, as some softball associations across the state were limited or were not able to play any games at all.

This unfortunately also meant we were unable to do work on a lot of the scheduled projects that volunteers typically work on. But, volunteers were able to put in over 200 hours of service to help make the season successful.

Volunteers complete over 150 hours towards the concession stand, over 130 hours in field work, as well as countless hours in behind the scenes work on webpages, registrations, scheduling, grant writing, and much more.

Speaking of grant writing, GVSA was able to secure $10,000 in grants for 2020, and we hope that is just the starting point for much more in the years to come. As the challenges of running an aging softball complex increase, the grants and other volunteer work become increasingly important.

As we all look forward to a better year in 2021, we thank all our volunteers for the work they accomplish and the positive impact they have on Bozeman softball.
